Sunday 30th June..Parish Pilgrimage and Picnic

This Sunday is the 5th Sunday of the month and a chance to do something different to normal. I hope you will be able to join us for one or more parts of the exciting and varied day.
You do not need to let us know in advance want you intend to come to, and do please invite friends and family to join the day with us all.

The expected timings of the day

In essence the outline of the day is as follows:

8.30am Book of Common Prayer Holy Communion at St. Laurence.
9am Simple breakfast at St. Laurence
9.30/40am Depart on Pilgrimage to the other 9 churches

12/12.15pm Picnic at Whiteshill church including a short time of outside informal worship.
12.15pm Pilgrims arrive to share in picnic (bring your own)
[There is also the community Open Gardens in Whiteshill on this day which you might want to visit before or after the picnic together]

1.15pm Pilgrims continue to Slad
4pm Pilgrims finish at Holy Trinity Church, Stroud and there is tea and cake
4.15/30pm Time of worship and praise

5pm The end of our day together.

We are able to give you a lift by car from one church back to another if you are only able to walk part of the way. For example, if you want to walk from Whiteshill to Slad, and have left a car in Whiteshill, then we can give you a lift from Slad back to your car in Whiteshill. This can be arranged on the day and there is no need to inform me in advance.

All timings, after St. Laurence in the morning, need to be treated with a bit of caution and understanding!

Communion during this time

In these unprecedented times, we are working hard to find imaginative solutions in a landscape that has been rapidly changing. Sometimes we get things right, and sometimes we miss the mark. I apologise that this has been the case regarding communion.

For those of you who have received wafers in a parcel, we would ask that you either consume them, or put them somewhere safe to bring back once we are able to be together again.

We are going to be sending out a new order of service for use during this time as either a simple service of the word or, on occasion, to help us to share an Agape meal together.
