Daisy Day Event at St Paul’s Church, Whiteshill on Saturday 12th July
Maggie Booth who leads the fund-raising team at St. Paul’s writes:
“A couple of years ago at St Paul’s we organised ‘The Big Hug’ at the Church. I was asked how many people would be needed to do that and would it work? Well, I never did a head count, but we did encircle St Paul’s, holding hands and I couldn’t have been happier, it was a wonderful moment.
This year we’re ready for another challenge …on Saturday 12th July there will be a colourful ‘chain of daisies’ going around the church. I’m aiming for at least 500 paper daisies all decorated, (hopefully) blowing gently in the breeze. It’s quite a challenge but it’s got off to a great start. Several people have asked for paper plates to decorate; local groups want to get involved, also Playgroup and Schools. Even the ‘Knit & Natter’ group are putting down their knitting and cutting out daisies to decorate.
I have some daisies already cut but I can provide a template with the plates for anyone happy to cut them out themselves. Perhaps you could encourage your parishioners or local groups to have a few plates to decorate? As for making pretty daisies, anything goes. Let your creative juices flow, imagine all these colourful daisies going around St Paul’s at Whiteshill – I know we can do it!
If you or your church or a group you belong to would like to help please email me for further details on [email protected] Thank you!”
