Continuing a more than 300 year tradition of ringing the bells at St Laurence for state and civic occasions, the tolled the tenor fully muffled the day after the Queen’s death. As the inscription on the tenor bell says: “May those I summon to the grave the blessing of a well lived life receive”.
They then rang two Quarter Peals half muffled on the the day of her funeral. The commemorative certificate for one is attached,
