THE CHURCH OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, PAGANHILL 125TH ANNIVERSARY
.
‘The weekend of 8th/9th June 2024 saw 125 years of continuous Christian witness and worship at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Paganhill, affectionately known as the ‘tin church’ and there were great celebrations.
On Saturday about 60 local residents and church members sat down to a delicious tea with birthday cake, followed by musical entertainment with Onyx, a group of three ladies who sang a selection of popular songs in harmony, followed by a ‘sing-a-long’ led by local resident, Bill Im and his group, The Local Vocals, The evening was a huge success with an added bonus of raising over £200 for church funds.
On Sunday James, our Acting Team Rector celebrated a special Celebration of Holy Communion with the Revd. Michael Jeffery. Michael shared some of his memories of happy times, and sad, during his time as Vicar of what was then the former United Benefice of Whiteshill, Paganhill and Randwick during the 1980’s and early 90’s. A big thank you to James and Michael for making this a very happy morning and we look forward with optimism to continuing to find ways of ‘being church’ in Paganhill for many years to come.’
