This concert programme includes, in the first half, Gregorio Allegri’s stunning setting of Psalm 51, Miserere Mei Deus, Schutz ” Musikalische Exequiem 1, and Byrd’s “O Salutaris Hostia” paired with a new composition by Gemma Cartmell, setting the words “O Saving Sacrifice”
Following an interval where refreshments will be available by suggested donation, the choir will perform Faure’s Requiem, remembering Hilary Peters, late of Worcester Lodge, Badminton, without whose love of music and young people, Standish Consort would not have been born. The choir will be accompanied on the organ by Edward Byrne, organ scholar at Magdalen College, Oxford and previously of Worcester Cathedral.
