St John the Baptist Church is a welcoming village church, located on Church Road in Randwick.  Nearby are the village hostelries – the Carpenter’s Arms in Westrip and Vine Tree Inn at the top of Randwick village on the road to Gloucester; and the Village Hall and Playing Fields are just a short distance away, along The Lane.

Inside, the area for the congregation is divided into two, with pews in the main nave and a carpeted area for flexible use in the south aisle.   Chairs and tables are available for use.

There are beautiful stained-glass windows, the latest added for the Millennium.

The John Wesley Room was added in 1993 after the formation of the Ecumenical Partnership with the Methodists; and following the closure of the Methodist Chapel.  This is a warm and comfortable meeting room with chairs, tables and facilities for making tea and coffee.

The toilet is located next to the John Wesley room and can be accessed from the church via two steps and the Vestry, or from the outside of the building via a ramp (accessibility friendly).

Parking is available on Church Road; at the village car park located just above that of the Vine Tree Inn; or at the Village Hall.

The church has a bell tower with 6 bells and an enthusiastic team of bellringers who are happy to ring for all occasions, and an equally enthusiastic Flower Arranging team who delight in producing a variety of floral arrangements, including floral arches over the entrance doors.

In order for this to work you will need a computer with at least a microphone and speakers. You do not have to have camera, but obviously it helps.

A new window opens and you are taken to one of our video conference rooms using Google Meet

You may need to grant permission to use your camera and microphone.

We will get a notification that someone wants to join the call and we’ll let you in.

On an iPhone or Android

Download the app Google Meet first. Open the app and give it the permissions it needs to access your camera and microphone.

Then come back and click the Ding Dong! button on this page.

Communion during this time

In these unprecedented times, we are working hard to find imaginative solutions in a landscape that has been rapidly changing. Sometimes we get things right, and sometimes we miss the mark. I apologise that this has been the case regarding communion.

For those of you who have received wafers in a parcel, we would ask that you either consume them, or put them somewhere safe to bring back once we are able to be together again.

We are going to be sending out a new order of service for use during this time as either a simple service of the word or, on occasion, to help us to share an Agape meal together.
