Register now for the Christmas Tree Festival 2023!

There is still time to submit your registration for a tree in the Stroud Christmas Tree Festival 2023! If you have already submitted a form, thank you!

We are delighted to be able to invite you to exhibit a tree at the Stroud Christmas Tree Festival 2023 at St Laurence Church, Stroud. The Festival will run from Friday 1st December 2023 to Sunday 10th December 2023. We have chosen a theme of “Inclusivity” and you are welcome to incorporate this into your tree should you wish.

Following feedback from last year, we have (hopefully) simplified the application process. Please follow the link below to our google form to complete and submit the form. This will also collate the information we need for planning so it would be great if you could respond with the form. If you are having issues with the form please let us know.

Please apply by 31st October 2023. If you have any questions please get in touch.

Key Information

Lights must be LED and have the option to be static and silent

Trees need to be in place by lunchtime 30th November and they can be removed after the Town Carol Service on Sunday 10th December 2023 at around 12noon.

Should adverse weather cause issues we will adjust clear up times accordingly

We will be hosting a Networking Evening on Thursday 30th November for all tree exhibitors and volunteers. This will be a great opportunity for you to see all the trees in place before we open to the public and to also meet the other exhibitors.

We really appreciate all the volunteering hours for this festival. In 2022 46 volunteers took part and offered 335 hours in total. Just over 7000 people came last year and £4,500 was raised for the necessary building repairs for St Laurence.

However, all the events in St Laurence are organised by a very small team and we are looking for a few more regulars who would like to help with:

joining as a co-manager with Camilla Hale for the Christmas Tree Festival itself

running the warm spaces drop in on Wednesdays in the church hall

helping with the many events and concerts that take place in St Laurence

If you would be interested in getting involved in St Laurence, Stroud Centre for Peace and the Arts, do get in touch with Camilla at [email protected].

Looking forward to getting 100 trees in the church this year!

Communion during this time

In these unprecedented times, we are working hard to find imaginative solutions in a landscape that has been rapidly changing. Sometimes we get things right, and sometimes we miss the mark. I apologise that this has been the case regarding communion.

For those of you who have received wafers in a parcel, we would ask that you either consume them, or put them somewhere safe to bring back once we are able to be together again.

We are going to be sending out a new order of service for use during this time as either a simple service of the word or, on occasion, to help us to share an Agape meal together.
