Important Announcement from the team:

We will soon bid farewell to Helen Hill, who will be leaving the Stroud Team in January. Helen‘s last Sunday with us will be 19th January.

After faithfully serving among us for four and a half years, Helen will take some much-deserved time to reflect and recharge before starting a new chapter in ministry. She plans to deepen her understanding of the Celtic saints through reading, retreat, and pilgrimage, as well as explore new approaches to children and family outreach by visiting different expressions of church across the diocese. She also hopes to enjoy a longer holiday during this transition.

Helen will begin her new role in the Thornbury Benefice at Easter, which will bring her closer to home. She writes, “Discerning that it was time to move has been hard because you have become friends, and all that you do, are, and aspire to has become close to my heart. Nevertheless, it seems the right time now to focus on a ministry setting closer to home. Thank you for all the love and support you have given to me over the last four and a half years.”

While we will miss Helen deeply, we give thanks for all she has brought to our community and pray that her time of preparation and rest will be richly blessed. May she carry the love and gratitude of this community with her as she embarks on this next stage of her journey.

Communion during this time

In these unprecedented times, we are working hard to find imaginative solutions in a landscape that has been rapidly changing. Sometimes we get things right, and sometimes we miss the mark. I apologise that this has been the case regarding communion.

For those of you who have received wafers in a parcel, we would ask that you either consume them, or put them somewhere safe to bring back once we are able to be together again.

We are going to be sending out a new order of service for use during this time as either a simple service of the word or, on occasion, to help us to share an Agape meal together.
