Advent in Stroud: an opportunity to gather, prepare and pray

Advent Sunday falls on 3 December this year, and we will have opportunity to mark it with beautiful, and sometimes overlooked, Advent Carols in All Saints, Uplands at 4pm and St Alban’s, Parliament Street 6.30pm.

Holy Trinity, Stroud – our church next to the hospital will  host our Eccumenical Advent Course, this year looking at Hope, Peace, Joy and Love in the Bible, with a short film on the theme followed by sharing from scripture and experience. Gathering at 7 for coffee, starting at 7.30 each Thursday from 30 November to 21 December.

There are a host of other opportunities to gather, prepare and pray which will be coming up on the website, notice boards and a plethora of other means very soon, so do keep checking in!

What happens when you click this button?

On a desktop computer

Communion during this time

In these unprecedented times, we are working hard to find imaginative solutions in a landscape that has been rapidly changing. Sometimes we get things right, and sometimes we miss the mark. I apologise that this has been the case regarding communion.

For those of you who have received wafers in a parcel, we would ask that you either consume them, or put them somewhere safe to bring back once we are able to be together again.

We are going to be sending out a new order of service for use during this time as either a simple service of the word or, on occasion, to help us to share an Agape meal together.
