A prayer for our secondary school young people and their teachers

A prayer for our secondary school young people and their teachers

Loving God who is always certain, always sure,

Be with our young people as they face the uncertainty of what will happen with their GCSE’s and A Levels.
Comfort them in the confusion and anxiety of feeling they may not be getting what they deserve, or of being judged without being fully known.
Be a safe place for them as they struggle with uncertainty about the future.
Protect our vulnerable young people for whom home is not a safe haven.
May we make ourselves available to support them during periods of isolation.

May each young person know themselves to be enough, just as they are.
May they know themselves to be your beloved children.

Be with our teachers as they experience the loss of their classes after all the support and encouragement they have invested into them.
Be with them in the uncertainty of being judged on a job they were unable to finish.
Be with them as they create new ways to remotely teach the students that are half way through their courses.

May each teacher know themselves to be enough, just as they are.
May they know themselves to be your beloved children.

Amen

Download the app Google Meet first. Open the app and give it the permissions it needs to access your camera and microphone.

Communion during this time

In these unprecedented times, we are working hard to find imaginative solutions in a landscape that has been rapidly changing. Sometimes we get things right, and sometimes we miss the mark. I apologise that this has been the case regarding communion.

For those of you who have received wafers in a parcel, we would ask that you either consume them, or put them somewhere safe to bring back once we are able to be together again.

We are going to be sending out a new order of service for use during this time as either a simple service of the word or, on occasion, to help us to share an Agape meal together.
