New Roles at St Laurence.

St Laurence Church: Stroud Centre for Peace and the Arts has appointed two new staff to
join the existing Stroud Parish Churches team. These new part-time roles, Social Enterprise
Development Manager and Facilities and Events Co-ordinator, will work together to help
continue the revitalising and regeneration of St. Laurence church and its buildings.

Kate, the Social Enterprise Development Manager, ([email protected])
brings a diverse background in graphic design, event coordination, theatre production, and
management, most recently working as Events Co-ordinator at Tetbury Goods Shed. Kate
started her role on 3 rd March 2025. The Social Enterprise Development Manager role builds
on the existing work of both developing innovative events & projects and of building
revenue and community involvement.

Lauren, the Facilities and Events Co-ordinator, ([email protected])
has a professional background working as an Events and Challenges Fundraiser for
organisations such as ShelterBox and Make-A-Wish Foundation. More recently Lauren as a
passionate supporter of Women’s Circles, has organised and held over 100 events providing
safe and secure environments for women. Lauren started her role on 2 nd April 2025 and is be
managing the hire arrangements for bookings at St Laurence church and rooms – including
running the booking system, managing enquiries, practical hire arrangements and
identifying any building related issues.

St. Laurence is very excited about these appointments as they help with its mission of
“Exploring together what a town centre church can be”.

Communion during this time

In these unprecedented times, we are working hard to find imaginative solutions in a landscape that has been rapidly changing. Sometimes we get things right, and sometimes we miss the mark. I apologise that this has been the case regarding communion.

For those of you who have received wafers in a parcel, we would ask that you either consume them, or put them somewhere safe to bring back once we are able to be together again.

We are going to be sending out a new order of service for use during this time as either a simple service of the word or, on occasion, to help us to share an Agape meal together.
